The South African singer added that she is “absolutely heartbroken” to not be able to proceed with her tour, which was scheduled to kick off March 21 and included a slot at Coachella in April. “In consulting with medical professionals it’s become increasingly clear that continuing any festival or tour dates would jeopardize my long-term health and safety,” she explained.

Tyla assured fans that she and her team are “working diligently on a spectacular show” as soon as she’s recovered and “ready to return safely onstage this summer.”

Additionally, she confirmed that for her North American tour dates, fans’  tickets will be automatically refunded, while for international dates, ticket providers will reach out with options.

In the post’s caption, Tyla lamented how hard it is “having to turn down opportunities you’ve been waiting your whole life for but God has his plan.”

Tyla signed to Epic Records in 2021 and rose to fame in the U.S. with her single “Water,”  which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No. 1 on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs and Hip-Hop/R&B charts. At the 2024 Grammys, she won the inaugural best African music performance. Her debut self-titled LP, which features the hit track, arrives March 22.
