With musical films proving to be box office hits, British pop act Take That are the latest band to throw their hat into the ring with jukebox musical Greatest Days.

The film — which is executive produced by Take That band members Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald — features a comedy cast that promises to take viewers on a nostalgic tale of friendship and adulthood. Along the way, the film’s protagonists will have their journey soundtracked by familiar Take That hits.

Based on the musical stage show The Band which premiered at Manchester Opera House back in 2017, this feature film adaptation looks set to cash in on previous music-based hits like Danny Boyle’s Beatles story Yesterday and the popular Mamma Mia franchise.

Much like the stage show upon which it’s based, Greatest Days follows four teenage friends who embark on what becomes a monumental night in their young lives after seeing their favourite boy band live in concert.

After making memories that last a lifetime, the story then shoots ahead 25 years, reintroducing us to these four pals at very different points in their lives.

With each juggling a variety of different issues, the quartet come back together to watch one more live show from their favourite boy band while reliving their youth and attempting to fix old friendships that have become frayed over time.

Throughout both legs of this restorative journey, our four on-screen friends have their adventures soundtracked by a variety of Take That hits, including Pray, Everything Changes, Back for Good, Could It Be Magic, A Million Love Songs, Never Forget, Shine, Patience, Rule the World and Greatest Day.

The original stage show The Band was a huge hit following its 2017 debut, going on to tour extensively throughout the UK and beyond. Executive producers Barlow, Owen and Donald are no doubt hoping for similar success with this big-screen adaptation.
