Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is confirmed
Star-Lord’s motley crew of galactic misfits are on for a third caper, director James Gunn has confirmed.
Though the second movie is not set to hit screens until next month, it seems that Marvel and Disney are happy to plough ahead with confidence.
Speaking to Complex, Gunn said: “There will be a ‘Guardians 3,’ that’s for sure. We’re trying to figure it out.
“I’m trying to figure out what I want to do really, that’s all it is. I got to figure out where I want to be, what I want to spend the next three years of my life doing.
“You know, I’m going to make another big movie; is it the Guardians or something else? I’m just going to figure it out over the next couple of weeks.”
So while ‘Guardians 3’ appears to be on like Donkey Kong, whether Gunn will be at the helm once more appears to be less certain.
Perhaps if/when ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ cleans up at the worldwide box office – the first movie, despite being based on a little known Marvel comic book, made $773 million – he might be more inclined to reconsider.
Or at least Marvel and Disney might make him an offer he’s unable to refuse.
‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’, starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Sylvester Stallone, and Kurt Russell, is out on April 28.
