Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 voted best Super Bowl trailer

It might have been barely a minute long, but the teaser for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’, as debuted on Sunday, has been voted the best of the Super Bowl clips.

The trailer was up against some stiff competition from the likes of ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’, ‘Fast & Furious 8’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge’.

But according to a survey of 1000 film fans by movie site Fandango, Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord and chums came out on top, with Hugh Jackman’s ‘Logan’ coming in second place.

Johnny Depp’s drunken sailor Jack Sparrow in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge’ came in at number three.

“‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ scored major points with fans during this year’s Super Bowl by delivering a fun, action-packed teaser with plenty of rock ‘n roll vibes and just enough Baby Groot to leave us all thirsting for more,” said Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis.

“Proving it’s very much a movie for everyone, its Big Game spot clearly showed why it’s one of this year’s most anticipated films.”

The movie is indeed hotly anticipated, following on the heels of its $773 million (£625 million) haul back in 2014.

Its sequel, also starring Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, and Kurt Russell, is due out on April 28 across the UK.
