Gwyneth Paltrow has landed her next movie role, as she makes a return to cinema.

Paltrow last appeared on the big screen in 2019, reprising her MCU role of Pepper Potts in Avengers: Endgame. Now, the actor will star alongside Timothée Chalamet in Josh Safdie's Marty Supreme.

According to Deadline, the movie will be loosely inspired by professional ping pong player Marty Reisman however, it will not be described as a biopic.

Details regarding the plot are yet to be announced, with Paltrow's character also being kept under wraps for the moment.

The script was written by director Safdie, alongside Ronald Bronstein. The pair will join Eli Bush, Anthony Katagas, Chalamet and A24 to produce the movie.

Paltrow recently starred in the Netflix series The Politician, which was created by her husband Brad Falchuk. She also hosts The Goop Podcast with author Cleo Wade.

Meanwhile, Chalamet will be playing the lead in the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown.

Adapted the from the book Dylan Goes Electric! by Elijah Wald, the movie will showcase the earliest years of Bob Dylan's career as a struggling songwriter in New York City. It will follow his transformation as a pioneer of the folk-rock movement after a performance at the Newport Folk Festival.

The film's synopsis reads: "At the Newport Folk Festival in 1965, a young Bob Dylan shakes up his act on the folk music scene by going electric and siring rock as the voice of a generation, defining one of the most transformative moments in 20th-century music."

Marty Supreme doesn't have a release date yet. A Complete Unknown will be released on December 25 in the US and January 17, 2025 in the UK.
