The Hive set shut down after Oscar-winning star hits head on concrete

Halle Berry was rushed to hospital after an accident on the set of her new movie ‘The Hive’, according to reports.

The Oscar-winning actress hit her head on some concrete after taking a fall during a fight scene.

The 45-year-old star was rushed by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles earlier today. The injury was thought serious enough for the set to be shut down.

A spokesperson for the actress said she has now been released from hospital. They said: "Halle Berry suffered a minor head injury while shooting a fight sequence on the set of her film, 'The Hive'.

"She was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but she checked out healthy and was released. She'll continue production as planned."

The actress stars alongside Abigail Breslin and David Otunga in the film, which is directed by Brad Anderson.

Last year Berry broke her foot while chasing a goat during on the set of ‘Cloud Atlas’ in Spain.
