Happiest Season star Aubrey Plaza has joined the cast of Guy Ritchie's new film alongside Jason Statham.

The film, originally titled Five Eyes, is a spy thriller which sees Statham play a secret agent who is recruited by a global intelligence organisation called Five Eyes.

Statham will be sent on a globe-trotting mission to infiltrate a billionaire arms broker and track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapon while reluctantly paired with a high-tech CIA expert.

When the film was first announced in September , STX's chairman Adam Fogelson said: "Jason is a global box office heavy weight, and when teamed with Guy Ritchie, that's an irresistible combination.

"It's a thrill to be back in business with Guy, Bill and the team at Miramax after our shared success on The Gentlemen and we believe Five Eyes is the kind of film our partners overseas will love as much as we do."

The film will be Ritchie's' fifth directorial collaboration with lead actor Statham. The pair first worked together in 1998 on Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels then Snatch in 2000 and Revolver in 2005.

Their next film together, Wrath of Man, is scheduled to be released in the United States on January 15, 2021.
