Harrison Ford to join Anchorman 2

Veteran Hollywood star will play a legendary anchorman in the comedy sequel

Harrison Ford has been confirmed for the cast of 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues'.

The Hollywood veteran is to play a veteran newscaster in the film, in the mould of US legend Tom Brokaw alongside Will Ferrell's Ron Burgundy.

Ford has previously played an anchorman in 2010 rom-com 'Morning Glory'.

He'll join a number a new cast additions, including James Marsden, who is reportedly set to play Burgundy's new nemesis and Kristen Wiig as the love interest to Steve Carrell's weatherman Brick Tamland.

Dylan Baker and Meagan Good are also confirmed for roles.

Meanwhile, performances are rumoured from Terence Stamp, who it's thought could be playing a Rupert Murdoch-esque media mogul, and regular Ferrell collaborator John C. Reilly.

They would join Channel 4 news team David Koechner, Paul Rudd and Christina Applegate for the Adam McKay-directed comedy, which begins shooting soon in Atlanta.

Ford's appointment, while enticing, pales against the expectation of him reprising his role of Han Solo in the forthcoming 'Star Wars' sequels.

There is, however, no confirmation of that yet.
