Meghan returned to her roots and got a taste of Hollywood again when she and Prince Harry stepped onto the red carpet and mixed it with A-listers at the London premiere of The Lion King this week.

It was a very public appearance for the couple, after the hush, hush of Archie's christening that saw them heavily criticised from fans and royal experts.

Now one royal expert has revealed he thinks the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appear to be "ignoring" advice from the palace, which has left them "careering from one [PR] disaster to another".

"What are their PR people briefing them, and are they completely ignoring it," the Daily Mirror's Royal Editor Russell Myers asked, while speaking on the podcast Pod Save the Queen.

"My guess is, yes, they are completely ignoring it."

Harry and Meghan are both 'headstrong'

Russell said both Harry and Meghan are 'headstrong' people and have decided this is the way they want to do things for the sake of their child.

But he added that sources close to the Sussexes confirmed the pair "just don't take advice".

British people turned against the couple when it was revealed they spent over two million taxpayer pounds on renovations of their new family home Frogmore house.

But it's a property that can only be seen from afar and photos of what their money was spent on will likely never be public. And while they did a photo call to introduce the world to their son Archie after he was born, their decision to have a private christening also fuelled backlash.

The only glimpse the public has been given into their lives are a series of stylised and posed photos released after the fact - many in black and white - a trend slammed by many royal commentators. And the occasional royal appearance.\
