Harry Potter's Goyle Is Now A Cage Fighter

A lot of the young stars of ‘Harry Potter have continued their acting careers, some have taken up modelling, but only one has become a cage fighter.

That’s the career path chosen by Josh Herdman, who played Draco Malfoy’s Slytherin stooge Gregory Goyle in all eight of the Warner Bros blockbusters.

Herdman made his amateur debut (via Mirror)this past weekend at an evnt held at the City Pavilion in Romford, east London. He defeated Polishman Janusz Walachowski in the bout.

Asked about his career choice, the 28-year-old told Addicted To MMA: “I’ve been training traditional Japanese jujitsu for nearly five years and hold a shodan black belt.

“It’s raw, exciting and unpredictable. I find it more interesting than boxing although I appreciate the beauty and art in boxing. It also made sense to move onto MMA [mixed martial arts] because of my jujitsu training.”

Despite his win, Herdman hasn’t given up on being an actor. "I haven’t fallen out of love with it,” he said. “I still have an agent and still go for auditions. It’s just a little bit like playing the lottery for a living.”

Herdman has a handful of roles outside of 'Potter’ having appeared alongside Rupert Grint in 'Thunderpants’ and in an episode of 'The Bill’. Later this year he’ll appear in British drama 'Sink’.

“I don’t see it so much as a career change, I am passionate about both acting and fighting,“ he said.
