One Direction icon Harry Styles has replaced Shia LaBeouf in director Olivia Wilde's upcoming thriller Don't Worry Darling.

The project was announced back in spring, with Oscar-nominated Black Widow actress Florence Pugh and Wonder Woman's Chris Pine filling out the spectacular cast.

Deadline reports that LaBeouf pulled out due to scheduling conflicts.

Details surrounding Don't Worry Darling are pretty thin on the ground right now, but we do know that it's a "psychological thriller which is set in an isolated, utopian community in the 1950s California desert".

Pugh has previous in this kind of territory, having starred in Ari Aster's nightmarish second feature-film Midsommar last year, where her character Dani succumbs to the rituals of a twisted festival.

Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood also featured a community, so there's definitely a taste for this stuff on the big screen.

Following her critically-acclaimed directorial debut Booksmart, Wilde is a woman in demand at the moment, most recently getting snapped up by Sony Pictures to produce a female-led Marvel blockbuster.

Although we only have rumours to play around with, the superhero Spider-Woman could be the big name she's bringing to the screen, or even Madame Web.

The film is being written by Wilde alongside her writing partner Katie Silberman, while Amy Pascal produces and Rachel O'Connor executive produces.
