Has this new picture from Logan revealed a huge spoiler?

Want to know what happens in ‘Logan’? Well, perhaps you should read no further.

Thanks to a new picture from the X-Men spin-off’s Instagram page, a crucial plot point may have just been revealed.

You have been warned…

Eagle-eyed fans (and Uproxx) have connected the dots between the new picture and a brief snippet from the film’s trailer.

And it appears to suggest that Patrick Stewart’s Professor X may not be long for this world.

The picture shows a car riddled with bullet holes.

Meanwhile, in the trailer, there’s a snapshot of Hugh Jackman’s Logan/Wolverine taking the prof for a drive.

Could it be the same car? Well, it might be something of a coincidence otherwise, or it could be deliberate misdirection from the movie makers.

But it would perhaps tally with the dour tone of the movie, which sounds like it will be more of a cerebral journey than a CGI bonanza.

The third – and final – Wolverine movie is due for release in March next year.

It finds an ageing Logan, whose self-healing immortality appears to be on the wane, protecting a young mutant girl called Laura, in whom he sees much of himself.

As well as Jackman and Stewart, and Dafne Keen as Laura, it stars Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant and Eriq La Salle.
