You and The Haunting of Bly Manor star Victoria Pedretti has landed her first leading film role, following smaller appearances in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Shirley.
As reported by Variety, the actress will appear in the film Lucky as Alice Sebold, who wrote The Lovely Bones and her 1999 memoir that the film is based on and named after.
The memoir, and by extension, the film, focuses on how Alice's life is affected by being brutally attacked and raped at 18 years old, both in the short term and the long term.
A description of the film reads: "Intent on putting her rapist behind bars, Alice is equally determined to reclaim some semblance of a normal life.
"Refusing to allow her rapist to take her chance at an education and her future, Alice manages to reclaim her sexuality, her sense of self, and ultimately, her voice."
Filming is set to begin next month, on June 21, with 13 Reasons Why's Karen Moncreiff on board as writer and director.
