Have Princes William And Harry Filmed Star Wars Stormtrooper Cameos?

A visit to the set of ‘Star Wars’ is surely the one time you’d pull the old 'I’m a Prince’ card.

And according to reports, Prince William and Prince Harry’s trip to Pinewood Studios last week to see 'Star Wars VIII’ being made may have been a bit more involved than previously thought.

The Mail on Sunday is claiming that the princes donned the iconic white armour of the Stormtrooper and secretly filmed cameos in the new movie.

A source on the movie told the paper: “The line given was that they were going to have lunch and a private tour of the rest of the set.

“What really happened is that the director came over and told them it was time to 'get suited’ and off they went to the wardrobe department.

“The Princes dressed up in full Stormtrooper gear and filmed a scene in which Rey and Finn infiltrate a secret base.

“The rebel characters are in a lift with Benicia del Toro’s character when a group of Stormtroopers enter – two of whom are William and Harry.”

Pictures of the visit were supplied to the media last week, with Wills and Harry taking part in a mock lightsaber battle, and hugging Chewbacca.

But could they really have filmed a scene in the movie with Daisy Ridley and John Boyega?

It would not be the first instance of famous folk going incognito for the series – with Daniel Craig playing a Stormtrooper in 'The Force Awakens’, and rumours of others under layers of plastic and latex, including Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich and '30 Rock’ star Judah Friedlander.

So far, spokes-folks for the Princes have only fuelled speculation, saying they would neither confirm nor deny the rumours.

“The Princes had a great day showcasing the British talent behind Star Wars,” they would only say.

Disney has declined to comment.

The movie is out on December 15, 2017.
