Hereditary star Milly Shapiro has responded to the negative comments that she received over her appearance in the 2018 horror movie.

Milly played the role of Charlie, a young girl who is disturbed by the supernatural after the passing of her grandmother.

Posting on TikTok, Milly created a video with an expressive (and NSFW) soundtrack illustrating her frustration at people posting negative comments about her appearance underneath the movie trailer.

"Being in a movie and playing a character where they purposely made you look your worst and then millions of people seeing it," Milly wrote on her TikTok video.

Accompanying the video was a caption where Milly went into more detail about her experience, she wrote: "I just remember when the trailer came out and one of the top three comments was about how ugly I looked."

Hereditary follows Annie (played by Toni Collette) and her family as they deal with the passing of her late mother. Everyone has their own way of dealing with their grief, but Annie and her daughter Charlie (played by Milly) start to dabble with the supernatural, which leads to some strange experiences. Annie and Charlie's problems are linked to secrets and deep trauma that is passed down generationally in their family.
