Disney theme park lovers, today is definitely your day! We now know when Star Wars Land and Pandora – The World of Avatar will be opening.

You can come face-to-face with those delightfully blue Na'vi tribes when the long-awaited Avatar attraction welcomes guests for the first time at Disney's Animal Kingdom in Florida on May 27. So, just a few months from now!

That announcement was made in an earnings calls with Disney CEO Bob Iger, who also revealed that the equally-exciting Star Wars Land will have its own opening day in 2019 simultaneously at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida and at Disneyland in California.

Iger focused mostly on hyping Pandora - The World of Avatar since its opening is just around the corner, describing the park as a having "extremely unique design and architecture".

"[Pandora is] the biggest new land we've opened in Florida in a very long time," he added. "I think that's good for the whole business down there... We really believe in the coming years the interest in Avatar is only going to grow as those movies enter the marketplace. We can't quantify it but we think this is big potential."

Avatar director James Cameron has already written four sequels to the blockbuster to be released over the next several years, so the opening of the Pandora attraction is definitely timely.

Once guests step into the The World of Avatar, they'll be able to recreate iconic scenes from the movie, take a Na'vi river journey into a bioluminescent forest and fly over both Pandora and its floating mountains.

The entire theme park project has been directly overseen by director James Cameron and producer Jon Landau to ensure its authenticity for those who travel around the world to visit Disney World.

If Jedi and Sith are more your bag, then Star Wars Land at Disney's Orlando and Anaheim theme parks will be perfect for you.

Construction is already underway on an entirely new planet where fans will be able to explore the entirety of the Star Wars universe.

Not only that, you can play a key role in an epic battle between The First Order and The Resistance and even get a chance to fly Han Solo's Millennium Falcon. If you're feeling parched, feel free to drop by the Cantina for a drink with a droid or two.

With its 2019 debut now set in stone, Star Wars Land will be opening in the same year as Episode IX hits cinemas in the UK and the US. We doubt that's a coincidence!
