Here’s The Rock Looking As Buff As You’d Expect In Fast 8

Universal has released a new image of The Rock’s ‘Fast & Furious’ character Hobbs as filming continues on upcoming action movie/car porno/Vin Diesel fever dream ‘Fast 8′ - and he looks as buff as you’d expect.

The image was posted to the web via Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s Instagram account, with the message: “The Iceman cometh. And I don’t f**keth around.” Sounds about right.

Directed by F Gary Gray, ‘Fast 8′ is currently filming in Iceland ahead of its release in 2017. The film marks the returns of stars Diesel, Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriquez and Ludacris.

They’ll be joined by Kurt Russell, reprising his special agent role from ‘Furious 7′ and Jason Statham, reprising his role as Deckard Shaw from the same movie. The highest profile newcomers are Charlize Theron as the villain and the legendary Helen Mirren.

No plot details are currently known, but the sequel was announced by Vin Diesel with artwork indicating it will see the franchise take place in New York City for the first time.

The ‘Fast and Furious’ series has become one of the biggest in Hollywood. It began with ‘Fast Five’ which put a bigger emphasis on action and took $626 million at the box office. The sequel took $789 million while last year’s ‘Furious 7′ took an incredible $1.5 million, more those two other films combined.

Will ‘Fast 8′ continue that upward-trajectory? It’s unlikely - because the last film can attribute a great deal of its success to it also marking the final appearance of the late Paul Walker - but there’s no reason why it won’t be expected to cross the $1bn mark.

‘Fast 8′ is set to be released on 3 April 2015.
