Here’s What’s New In Batman V Superman Extended Blu-ray

Here’s our first glimpse at the ‘Batman V Superman’ extended edition.

It’s no secret that ‘Batman V Superman’ is getting a new, much-longer, extended edition when it’s released on DVD and Blu-ray. But what can we expect? It looks as though we’ve finally got our first look at some of its new footage.

And there’s plenty more where that came from.

The first trailer for the ‘Batman V Superman’ extended edition – now known as the ‘Ultimate Edition’ – has debuted over at Collider… and it contains almost entirely new footage.

“The Ultimate Edition—which features 30 minutes of new footage incorporated into an extended, R-rated cut of the film—will be available early on Digital HD on June 28th along with the theatrical version of the movie, and both will be available to purchase on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, and Ultra HD Blu-ray on July 19th.”

The UK release date is thought to be 1 August 2016.

Of course, we’ve heard about the extended edition of ‘Batman V Superman’ already.

At a staggering 182 minutes long, this new edition packs in a whopping 30 minutes of new footage. What does that include? Well for one thing, the new trailer gives us a glimpse at Jenna Malone’s mystery role – a part which was completely cut from the theatrical release.

Other additions include more footage from Batman’s impressive warehouse rescue, some new shots of the fight against Doomsday, and a longer ending. And there are also details of the upcoming DVD and Blu-ray release… including what special features we can expect.

“Uniting the World’s Finest, Gods and Men: A Meeting of Giants, The Warrior, The Myth, The Wonder, Accelerating Design: The New Batmobile, Superman: Complexity & Truth, Batman: Austerity & Rage, Wonder Woman: Grace & Power, Batcave: Legacy of the Lair, The Might and the Power of a Punch, The Empire of Luthor, Save the Bats.”

“Additionally, all Blu-ray discs of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition will feature a Dolby Atmos soundtrack remixed specifically for the home theater environment to place and move audio anywhere in the room including overhead.”

Could the ‘Ultimate Edition’ help some of ‘Batman V Superman’s shortcomings?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see… but it’s an interesting start.
