High school teen asks Emma Stone to prom with epic La La Land video

Struggling to get a date for his prom, US high school student Jacob Staudenmaier has decided to aim high and ask ‘La La Land’ star Emma Stone to come along.

“I decided to ask Emma Stone to prom by recreating the opening scene from ‘La La Land’, her most recent movie,” he said, when posting the clip to YouTube.

“I rewrote the lyrics to the song myself and directed the video and did the choreography too, but thank you so much to all the friends and adults who came out to help make it happen.”

“I know my voice ain’t great,” he sings in the number. “But please be my prom date.”

A student at Arcadia High in Arizona (also, coincidentally, Stone’s home state, being from Scottsdale), Staudenmaier’s prom happens on April 29, so presumably Stone is, as we speak, clearing her diary.

Come on, Emma, do the decent thing and drop the young chap an email…
