Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks bosses have confirmed that John Paul McQueen will be arrested as George Kiss's manipulations continue.

John Paul (James Sutton) is currently under suspicion of domestic violence as a result of George's scheming.

Earlier this week, George injured his nose by running into a cupboard door during a playful moment with John Paul at The Dog flat.

When George headed to the hospital to get himself checked out, he enjoyed letting Peri Lomax (Ruby O'Donnell) believe that John Paul was responsible.

Peri later shared this suspicion with John Paul's friend and work colleague Courtney Campbell (Amy Conachan), who also wondered whether it could be true.

In Thursday's E4 first look episode (February 25), George is shocked when Courtney asks whether John Paul has been hurting him.

George continues to be very careful with his responses, doing nothing to get rid of her fears.

As the pressure on John Paul increases in the fallout, there are turbulent times ahead for him and Thursday's episode ultimately sees the police arrest him.

Will John Paul be able to prove his innocence?

The latest upsetting twist comes as part of John Paul's dark new storyline with George, which is exploring coercive control and domestic violence.

Viewers have seen George chipping away at John Paul's self-confidence in recent episodes. He was also violent towards his boyfriend during a row.

Callum Kerr, who plays George, recently told Digital Spy: "It's an honour to be trusted to explore this storyline. As we know, Hollyoaks hasn't shied away from hard-hitting storylines in the past, so I always had faith that the producers and writers know what they're doing.

"It's then my job to find the truth in the performance to convey the situation accurately, while being entertaining. It's a mad job, really, but worth it. If it helps one person, it will be worthwhile."

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.

Organisations including The Mankind Initiative (www.mankind.org.uk) provide support and advice to male victims and survivors of domestic abuse, domestic violence and coercive control. Its confidential helpline, open weekdays between 10am and 4pm, is 01823 334244.
