Hollyoaks' Verity Hutchinson has pregnancy lies exposed by newcomer Shaq

From Digital Spy

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Sami Maalik has finally discovered the truth about girlfriend Verity Hutchinson's pregnancy lies in Hollyoaks.

The lawyer had previously not told Sami (Rishi Nair) that she misled him about being pregnant to cover for Diane (Alex Fletcher), creating a mounting series of lies as Sami got excited about becoming a dad.

Fresh off finding out that Verity (Eva O'Hara) had secretly received a job offer in New York, Sami spent much of Friday's (March 5) first-look episode conflicted over whether he could uproot himself from his family.

Everything was complicated further when his cousin Shaq (Omar Malik) arrived straight from ditching his bride at the altar at their wedding. Shaq quickly got in the mix when he overheard Verity talking to Diane about how she'd made up her pregnancy.

He was stunned in the episode's final scenes when Sami made the grand romantic gesture of asking Verity if they could move away together, on the advice of "fairy godmother" Scott.

"Yeah, New York was a shock, but so was the baby, and that's the best thing that's ever happened to me," he admitted. "So, Verity Hutchinson, will you move to New York with me?"

Before Verity could even answer, Shaq stepped out from the shadows to tell his cousin what he'd overheard in the cafe earlier.

"If that's your girl, then she's a liar," Shaq insisted. "There ain't no baby. I heard her say it! She's faked the whole thing."

A stunned Verity was at a loss for words as Sami turned to ask once and for all whether she was actually pregnant. Viewers will have to wait until next week to find out how she answers…
