Hollywood’s Teamsters and the basic crafts unions have reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract. Terms of the deal, which must be ratified by the unions’ members, were not disclosed. “We were able to achieve good contracts for all of our covered members while at the same time keeping Hollywood working,” said Steve Dayan, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 399 and chairman of the basic crafts. “Under this agreement, we were able to ensure stability for the best work force on the planet.”

Said Carol Lombardini, president of management’s Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers, “The new agreement will keep productions working without interruption in the Los Angeles area and provide certainty for producers and labor for the next three years.”

The agreement marks the end of AMPTP’s latest three-year cycle of contract talks with the major unions, which

began in November 2013 when the DGA agreed to terms for a new film and TV contract. That was followed in quick order by deals with the Writers Guild and with SAG-AFTRA, and most recently, with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. The Animation Guild, which is part of the IATSE but bargains separately, will sit down with the AMPTP later this month to hammer out terms for its own new contract.
