Home and Away actress Jessica Falkholt laid to rest after Boxing Day horror crash

The Home and Away actress Jessica Falkholt was laid to rest after the car crash that also killed her parents and sister.

Having been in a coma since a horrifying Boxing Day crash, that saw sister Annabelle, 21, mum Vivian, 60, and dad Lars, 69, lose their lives, the actress’ life support was turned off just a day after the rest of her family were buried.

The star passed away on 17 January and her funeral was held on 22 January in Sydney, Australia at St Mary’s Catholic Church. Family members, friends, former co-stars, and fans gathered to pay their respects to the 29-year-old.

Attendees carried pictures of Jessica and flowers, as family members released white doves to celebrate her life.

Jessica’s uncle, Paul Ponticello, spoke at the funeral about his niece: ‘Beautiful Jess, you made us proud and you were a rising star.’

The Sydney Morning Herald posted a public notice of the funeral for anyone who wished to attend.

Jessica’s family then paid their respect’s privately in a service afterwards.

Craig Anthony Whithall, 50, was named as the driver who caused the collision, after hitting the family’s car head-on while driving on the opposite side of the road as he drove back from a methadone clinic.

Jessica starred in 16 episodes of the iconic soap Home and Away, had the lead role in Aussie supernatural movie Harmony, and had recently completed work on series Mystery Road and crime-thriller Bite Club.
