Daniel Radcliffe is no stranger to the supernatural having made eight ‘Harry Potter’ films, but his role in ‘Horns’ sees the 25-year-old actor heading into much darker territory.
Based on the novel by Joe Hill (son of Stephen King), ‘Horns’ tells the story of a young man (Ig, played by Radcliffe) accused of the rape and murder of his girlfriend.
Before you start thinking this is just ‘Gone Girl’ for a younger audience, there’s a twist: Daniel Radcliffe’s character has mysteriously started to grow horns which bless him with strange powers.

These devilish growths on his head drive people to confess their sins and give into selfish impulses. This new power helps Ig to investigate his girlfriend’s murder to seek revenge on the real murderer.
‘Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone’ this ain’t.
The first UK poster for the film – see below – reminds us of ‘Potter’ tabloid the Daily Prophet. That can’t be a coincidence, can it?
The film, directed by Alexandre Aja (‘Piranha 3D’), is coming to cinemas, appropriately, on Halloween.
