Horse Killed By ‘Flying Iceberg’ On Fast and Furious 8 Set

A horse has been tragically killed on the set of ‘Fast & Furious 8′ after a prop iceberg being used on the film was blown into its field by gale force winds.

The giant plastic iceberg is said to have struck the horse - reportedly named Jupiter - and broken its leg while it was grazing, but TMZ reports the poor nag had to be put down by a vet soon after. The horse was not involved in the shooting of the film.

Another horse was also injured during the incident but is expected to make a full recovery. Production staff have told the horse owner that insurance will cover the cost of the horse and a broken fence.

If recent Instagram posts are to be believed, ‘Fast and Furious 8′ is currently shooting a car chase in Iceland on the the frozen surface of Lake Mývatn.

Many stunt vehicles have been spotted in the region filming scenes for F Gary Gray’s follow up to 2015′s hugely successful ‘Fast & Furious 7′ and a recent report on Collider says the production is planning “the largest explosion ever in Iceland”.

All of the key cast is set to return for ‘Fast 8′ minus, of course, Paul Walker who sadly died in 2013. Charlize Theron is rumoured to be playing the villain in the film that’s due to hit cinemas in April, 2017.
