Finally, she places layers of basil and sochan (a leafy green similar to lettuce) on one side of the rice paper before tightly wrapping it up and adding magnolia sepals (the base part of magnolia flowers that taste similar to ginger), the soaked glass noodles and the fried ostrich fern fiddleheads as she continues to fold. Once wrapped, she tops off the summer rolls with peanut sauce.
This recipe features a mélange of fresh herbs and vegetables wrapped into one summer roll. Start by dipping a rice paper sheet in water and laying it out flat on a plate. Next, place cucumbers sliced lengthwise in the middle of the rice paper. Then add a layer of mint and basil, followed by carrot sticks, avocado slices, cilantro and butter lettuce.
