How The Avengers Tie Into Netflix Daredevil Series

Quite how Marvel and Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ series will tie into the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has been a mystery for some time, but it appears those ties are more crucial role than many had assumed.

According to one of the series’ stars Elden Henson The Avengers themselves have played a huge part in setting up the story, and in particular the villain Wilson ‘Kingpin’ Fisk.

Speaking at a press roundtable (via ComicBook.com), Henson, who plays Daredevil Matt Murdock’s best friend and law partner Foggy Nelson, said: “New York’s been torn apart by the aliens and everyone’s trying to deal with it.

"That’s how the mob got their foothold in Hell’s Kitchen: from the Avengers’ fight. The Avengers don’t realise all this crime has trickled down because of their actions.

"I think that’s so interesting - how now that New York’s been torn apart, what’s going to happen with the criminal element. They’re not dealing with that."

The Avengers won’t be dealing with the mob (they’ll have bigger fish to fry with Ultron later this month) but Daredevil will, and anticipation couldn’t be higher for the first of many Netflix seires.

The entire first season of ‘Daredevil’ will be available to watch on Netflix come 10 April.
