Jennifer Hudson is set for another big-screen role in indie drama The Inevitable Defeat Of Mister And Pete.
The Oscar-winning Dreamgirls actress is tipped to star alongside American Idol winner Jordin Sparks in the upcoming film, to be directed by George Tillman Jr, reported Deadline.
Anthony Mackie and Jeffrey Wright are also expected to reunite for the movie, seven years on from their previous collaboration on The Manchurian Candidate remake.
Written by Michael Starrbury, The Inevitable Defeat Of Mister And Pete is said to follow two inner city teenagers - rumoured to be the two actors - who are left to take care of themselves when their mothers are taken away by the authorities.
It has not yet been revealed what roles Jennifer and Jordin would take.
Mum-of-one Jennifer - who won an Oscar for best supporting actress in 2006 for her performance in Dreamgirls - will next be seen in The Three Stooges, while Jordin, who was crowned queen of American Idol in 2007, will make her big-screen debut in musical Sparkle alongside the late Whitney Houston.
