COMMENT | Production is continuing apace for the third movie in the 'Hunger Games' quadrilogy, 'Mockingjay: Part I', and although there has been a predictable veil of secrecy drawn over the production, information continues to seep out regarding the latest activity involved in the production of this huge movie.
After Josh Hutcherson was spotted evidently filming in Atlanta last week, just 24 hours ago it was confirmed by Georgian locals that the 'Mockingjay' production has already moved on to a new location. The 'Mockingjay' team have moved on to Newnan, a small city in, and the county seat of, Coweta County, Georgia, about 30 miles southwest of Atlanta.
Apparently, police officers and security guards have been surrounding the perimeter of the Caldwell Tanks location in Newnan, where 'Mockingjay' filming is currently taking place. The company produces customised water tanks for the industrial sector. Although there haven't been any sightings of 'Hunger Games' stars at the site, it is presumed that both Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will be present at the shoot in due course, if they aren't there already.
The grounds of Caldwell Tanks is now apparently full of movie trailers, and locals have confirmed that filming is well underway at the site, despite the fact that no public access to the shoot has been granted. In fact, security is currently very stringent, with an indoor set being guarded by security personnel which are evidently private security.
This is the second time that the 'Hunger Games' production team has been spotted in the Caldwell Tanks region. Previously, there were representatives of the 'Mockingjay' producers recognised checking the area out in the weeks before 'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' was released. Apparently at that time the crew were involved with building a coliseum set at the site, so those that are familiar with the 'Mockingjay' novel can perhaps guess what scenes will be shot here (I will refrain from speculating in order to avoid a spoiler alert!).
It would seem that the filming for 'Mockingjay' is currently on schedule, as an employee of Caldwell Tanks by the name of Gary Walls told local press that the filming was planned to take place in late December some weeks ago.
Based on the third novel in the 'Hunger Games' series, unlike the previous books, 'Mockingjay' will be split into two movies, which will apparently involve new material being produced which wasn't part of Suzanne Collins' original text.
