Iceland’s New Ice Lollies Based On Sweet Shop Sweets Are Making Us So Hyped For Spring

From Delish

Summer 2021 is about to become the most hyped over summer in human history. With these first hints of sunshine peeping through grizzly March's cloud, we’re already beginning to *smell* the immaculate vibes ahead. And, thanks to some very exciting new ice lolly releases from the marvels at Iceland, the anticipation is almost too much to bear.

Iceland has released some brand-new ice lollies based on sweet shop classics such as Cola Bottles, Parma Violets, Squashies bubblegum and Nougat. PUMPED.

From what we can tell, the first three lollies will be classic fruity ice lollies based on their designated sweeties’ flavours, while Nougat’s will be a two-tone ice cream stick made from raspberry and vanilla nougat ice creams, featuring peanuts. Why does an ice lolly that’s based on a retro sweet shop classic sound so classy?! Someone please explain immediately.

The ice lollies will join Iceland’s existing range of Barratt and Swizzels frozen lollies, already featuring the likes of Flumps, regular Squashies Fruit Salads and Black Jacks (which are, by the way, an absolute no-no for us but each to their own…)

News of the new releases appears to have been broken exclusively through New Foods UK: one of our favourite sources when it comes to discovering all of the newest and most exciting food launches coming our way.

In the Instagram post which breaks the news, New Foods UK writes: “🚨 YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST 📢

“New Ice Lollies coming to @icelandfoods in a few weeks! 😱 This has literally made our day!”

Although we’re not 100% sure when these sweetie shop marvels will be hitting stores, we do know that A) the vibes are immaculate, B) Iceland smashed it yet again, and C) we’re about two cans of Strongbow Dark Fruits and a bottle of Nivea Sun SPF30 from declaring that summer 2021 starts right this second.
