Idris Elba Confirms Nicolas Cage Is A Vampire... Sort Of

We’ve all suspected that Nicolas Cage is probably a vampire, and now we’ve got proof.

Well, proof of a sort.

Ever since an alarming picture of a man bearing more than a passing resemblance to Mr Cage emerged on eBay back in 2012 - a picture purported to have been taken in 1870 - suspicions about the actor’s undeadness have been rife.

Cage has even gone as far as to address the rumour on Letterman, saying: “There’s a photograph of me and you can’t take pictures of vampires.

“Now look, I don’t drink blood and the last time I looked in the mirror I had a reflection.”

Sounds like he’s protesting a bit too much, if you ask us.

But it seems those rumours – like das wampyr – won’t die.

Brit actor Idris Elba took part in an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on Reddit over the weekend, and was asked by one fan if he had any great Nic Cage stories from their time on the movie ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance’, some of which was shot in Romania near Hunedoara Castle, where it is claimed Vlad the Impaler was held as a prisoner.

And of course, he did have.

“Yeah - Nic Cage came back one day on set, and he came down to set and he looked a little bit tired, a little bit - kind of like he’d been up all night.

“So I was like “hey Nic man, how you doing man” and he said “i’m alright’ and I said “You seem a little spoked out” and he said “Yeah man, I went up to Dracula’s castle…the ruins up in the mountains, and I stayed the night” and i said “What?! Why?” and he said “I just had to channel the energy, and it was pretty spooky up there.”

“We were shooting in Romania, Transylvania, and he just went up there to spend the night, as you do.

“And then he walked away. True story.”

Elsewhere, Elba revealed a few other startling titbits of information – ‘The Wire’ hardman’s favourite Disney movie being ‘Mary Poppins’, for example.

“Mary Poppins. I lovedMary Poppins. Classic, man, just classic! The songs, the animation, amazin’.”
