Ignore the hype – the Queer Eye guys are NOT dating

It took less than 20 hours for the new joint Instagram account they created to rocket to 37.7k followers. But despite the seven pictures and videos they posted suggesting otherwise, Antoni Porowski and Jonathan Van Ness from Queer Eye are officially not dating.

The internet speculation around the non-couple was brought to an end, when Van Ness posted a picture of the pair on his own feed. He captioned it, “It was all Antoni’s idea 🏳️‍🌈 but maybe someday we will fall in love@antoni”, finishing with the hashtag #notacouplebutitwasfunright.

Both men have become celebrities, with legions of fans, since starring on the revamped reality TV makeover show, which has been a massive hit since Netflix brought it back in 2018.

Antoni Porowski, is the food and wine expert, who seems to know everything about avocados, while Van Ness is in charge of the grooming makeovers on each episode.

The rumours began about a potential romantic spark between the two men when the @jvntoni account was created yesterday, July 4, It featured a picture of the two men in a suggestive embrace.

Their co-star and friend Bobbi Berk commented “Wish I had the power to break the internet like u two have tonight.”

Six more posts followed in the space of 15 hours, all featuring either one or both men, including the word “bae” in the caption.

Their fans loved it, with Instagrammers following in their thousands to see what would happen next. Many guessed the joke, with others hoping that they were indeed a couple.

One even commented, “I think you guys are treating today like April Fools Day because America is a joke. Guys, I cracked it.”

All five of the Queer Eye presenters were at New York Pride last weekend.

All three seasons of Queer Eye are available to stream now on Netflix.
