Illustrator Eleanor Shakespeare has shared a glimpse of her creative space, during an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour for ES Magazine’s ‘Inside the Studio’ series.

Based in South London, Eleanor has illustrated countless pages for ES Magazine over the years – from feature collages to front cover artworks. She specialises in photo-montage collages, taking real-life photographs and creating artistic treatments out of the subjects and the themes surrounding the concept.

Insider her studio tour, Eleanor gives us a peek into her creative process, from sketchbook to laptop screen. As well as sharing the artists and works that inspire her, she also shows the space that she creates within – from colour coded bookshelves to the objects that lay atop her desk.

This week, Eleanor has designed and created the front cover for the London Rising edition of ES Magazine, an issue supporting the Evening Standard’s campaign of getting London back on its feet. The cover features a collage of the power players that are key figures in the capital’s recovery. From activists to actors, drag queens to directors, the power list is a celebration of the people who can help London bounce back from the pandemic.

Pick up a copy of ES Magazine this Thursday and Friday to see Eleanor’s work in reality.
