During a conversation with Shane Richie about who she’d interviewed for her Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, Fletcher brought out the big guns by revealing she’d sat down for a chat about parenting with Kate Middleton.

She said that the interview had lasted for 90 minutes even though it was only scheduled for 45 minutes, and added: “It was huge, she’s never done anything like that before...As she said goodbye, she said, ‘we must stay in touch’.”

Fletcher later said: “What a complete career high, just two mums nattering away, but in true mum fashion, by the end we were drinking cold tea.”

Never one to miss a chance to tell a good celeb anecdote, Kay took the night’s view of a full moon as his cue to talk about the time he had seen a full moon from Chequers, pointed out to him by Tony Blair.

Apparently, he and wife Tess Daly had been invited for dinner there by Tony and Cherie Blair, along with Lord and Lady Sainsbury.

The unlikely dinner pals had admired the full moon, pointed out to them by Blair, and Kay told how he had responded to the then Prime Minister by making a wolf noise.

He recalled their tour of Chequers and even made a second-hand namedrop by saying that Tony Blair had joked about knowing how to use some swords that had been owned by Oliver Cromwell because Samuel L Jackson had taught him how to use a lightsaber.

Kay said: “You just think, big decisions have been made in these rooms and then Tess Daly from Strictly Come Dancing and Vernon Kay from Family Fortunes walk in.”

Beverley Callard said: “You just don’t expect that in Chequers do you, I want to go.”

The series has also seen Shane Richie talk about his nights spent go-karting with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, Kay reminisce over his interviews with Tom Hanks, and Ruthie Henshall reveal her past romance with Prince Edward.

I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV.
