Inbetweeners to hit US big screen

Film bosses are apparently set to make a US version of The Inbetweeners.

Paramount Pictures has put a big-screen American adaptation of the E4 comedy series - which spawned a hit UK movie - in the pipeline, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film company is said to have approached Iain Morris, who co-created the series with Damon Beesley, to write and direct the untitled US version.

The hugely successful UK big-screen version, starring Simon Bird, Blake Harrison, Joe Thomas and James Buckley, is also set to be released in the US on September 7.

Meanwhile, MTV is set to air their US take on the TV series on August 20.
