Indiana Jones 5 Memes Hit The Web... And They're Not Kind

To paraphrase Ferris Bueller, the web moves pretty fast.

Within what seemed like minutes of the announcement that ‘Indiana Jones 5’ is on the way with Harrison Ford reprising his role as the grizzled archaeologist, the memes were flowing.

- Indiana Jones 5 confirmed for 2019
- New Keanu Reeves movie makes £88
- Hollywood’s most cursed movie roles

Many (well, nearly all), of course, focused on the advancing age of the star, currently 73, and pushing 77 once the planned movie hits screens in the summer of 2019.

A new hashtag has also emerged, called #NewIndianaJonesMovieTitles.

They’re not too kind either.

It was announced yesterday that Steven Spielberg will direct the new movie, with Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall producing.

No word yet on whether Indy co-creator George Lucas will have a hand in the new movie.

“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019,” said Disney’s Alan Horn.

“It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”

The last movie in the series, 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’, was released to mixed reviews back in 2008.
