Yahoo Movies Indiana Jones statue unveiled in Leicester Square
The legendary movie hero joins the Scenes in the Square trail
Indiana Jones has had a statue unveiled of himself in London's Leicester Square.
Ahead of the release of the fifth film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, the bronze statue was revealed as the latest addition to the Scenes in the Square trail that features a number of film icons.
The Indiana Jones statue sees the character in his famous pose cracking a whip and wearing his signature fedora.

The statue of cinema's favourite archaeologist can be found in the square's north terrace which is one of the busiest walkway's in Europe.
Jones – who has been played by Harrison Ford for over 40 years – joins a number of other movie icons such as Harry Potter, Mary Poppins, Charlie Chaplin and Bugs Bunny which tourists and locals can find and have pictures with.
Visitors can also take part in an audio walking tour of the square which explains the history and importance of the characters and also offers bits of trivia.

Mark Williams, Director of Destination for Heart of London Business Alliance, spoke about the statue and said: “We are beyond thrilled to welcome Indiana Jones to the Scenes in the Square trail, honouring the character’s major part in cinema history since 1981 and cementing Harrison Ford’s status as a movie icon.”

Taking pride of place on Leicester Square’s bustling north terrace and unveiled on the nationwide release of his fifth cinematic adventure, Indy promises to be a hugely popular addition to the Square.”
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is released today and stars Harrison Ford, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Antonio Banderas and John Rhys Davies.
