Indie role for Sylvester Stallone

14 November 2012

Sylvester Stallone has taken time out from flexing his muscles in action blockbusters to shoot a role in an indie film.

The 66-year-old Hollywood actor - who has been racking up roles in big movies such as the Expendables films and upcoming boxing flick Grudge Match - recently spent several days shooting indie drama Reach Me, reported Variety.

It wasn't previously known that Sly had joined the cast of the film, about a group of people who all have a connection to a self-help book that was penned by a reclusive ex-football coach.

Details of Sly's part have not been revealed.

The Rocky star joins Nelly, Omari Hardwick, Elizabeth Henstridge and Danny Aiello in the film, which is being directed by John Herzfeld, his co-star in 1986 crime caper Cobra.
