Jackie Chan Films Fight Scene Atop Syndey Opera House

Jackie Chan has really kicked it up a notch for his latest movie…

The 62-year-old martial arts legend has been spotted in Sydney filming his latest movie, ‘Bleeding Steel’… but it’s no ordinary shoot, as the action superstar was spotted springing into action on top of the Sydney Opera House.

The rather impressive stunt was spotted on Wednesday afternoon, with Jackie Chan fighting off a black-clad woman atop the iconic Sydney Opera House. And while the 62-year-old star is no stranger to action set pieces, it all looked a bit dangerous.

And very, very cool.

Of course, Jackie Chan has a long history with Australia – his family moved to Canberra when he was just six years old, and while he chose to stay in Hong Kong to study drama, he regularly travels to Australia to visit his family, who have remained in the country to this day.

“I know Australia really well, I stayed here for two years, mostly in Canberra, Sydney I know very well, and Melbourne… I’m just like a tour guide,“ he told reporters in July, explaining he ‘loves to work in Australia’.

Originally known as Chan Kong Sang, the iconic martial arts star was given the western name ‘Jackie’ by Canberra labourers in the 1970s. According to the BBC (via The Age), Chan worked alongside them, and they gave him the nickname ‘Jack’ which soon became ‘Jackie’.

‘Bleeding Steel’ stars Jackie Chan as a special forces agent fighting to protect a young woman from the clutches of a criminal gang. He’s joined by Tess Haubrich, Callan Mulvey, Nana Ou-Yang, Erica Xia-Hou, and Show Luo.

‘Bleeding Steel’ heads to cinemas in 2017.
