Yahoo Movies Jackie Cruz Upped To Regular On ‘Orange Is the New Black’
On the heels of Orange Is the New Black‘s early Season 4 renewal, the Netflix/Lionsgate TV prison series has promoted Jackie Cruz to regular for the fourth season. Cruz plays the feisty, Smiths-loving, eyeliner-wearing Latina Flaca Gonzales on the show.
The actress-singer landed the part in her first New York audition and has been recurring since Season 1. OITNB is expected to further delve into her character and Flaca’s backstory in the upcoming third season, which premieres on June 12. This marks the first major series role for the New York-born, Dominican Republic-raised Cruz, who graduated from the performing arts program at Hamilton High’s Academy of Music in Los Angeles. She is repped by Jeremy Katz at The Katz Company.
