The family celebration comes after a difficult start to the year, when Roper Tolbert honored the January due date of the baby boy the couple lost in a miscarriage in August 2023.
"Tanner picked me up roses this morning, today was Beau's due date 🥹," she captioned a photo of yellow flowers posted to her Instagram Stories.
The family gathered around a small heart-shaped, blue-and-white cake with Beau's name written in the center. In a video posted to her Stories, the candle remains lit as she instructs her kids to "think of one warm, happy thought."
Emerson said her happy thought is "to eat the cake," while Reed repeated, "Happy thought." Turning to Brooks, she asked, "Do you have a happy thought?"
Smiling, he replied, "I love." The three kids then came together to blow out the candle as the video concluded.
Roper Tolbert announced the couple's heartbreaking miscarriage in an emotional Instagram post last August, writing, "I’ve been struggling with what to write here as I’ve been navigating a miscarriage."
"It felt like all my dreams were coming true to welcome another baby into our lives, to love and to complete our family," she continued.
"While our hearts are completely broken and we have been dealing with the deep and complex grief of the loss, we have been blessed to be touched by his soul for his short amount of time. I am forever changed," Roper Tolbert added.
