The iconic Aston Martin DB5, as driven by James Bond, has been voted the greatest movie car ever.

First featured in Goldfinger in 1964, the DB5, in various incarnations, has been featured in seven other Bond movies since, including 2015’s Spectre.

Coming in second place is the rather less flashy but nonetheless iconic Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the magical car from the movie of the same name, which, coincidentally was made by Bond producer Albert R. Broccoli from the novel by Bond writer Ian Fleming.

In at number three is the DeLorean from Back To The Future trilogy, followed by Herbie, the Volkswagen Beetle from the five Herbie movies, and the ‘tumbler’ Batmobile from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight films.

2000 movie fans were polled by Hyundai for the results, to mark several of its cars appearing in Marvel movie Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Also popular and featuring in the top 10 are Bond’s Lotus Espirit from The Spy Who Loved Me (which in the movie also has the added advantage of turning into a submarine), the 1948 Ford De Luxe from Grease, the 1968 Austin Mk I Mini Coopers from The Italian Job, Steve McQueen’s Ford Mustang from Bullitt and the original 1960s Batmobile, a custom Lincoln Futura.

Other questions asked included whether the ideal car chase should feature near misses (55 percent said yes), while 32 percent of people wanted to see car chases taking on on-coming traffic.
