James Cameron’s Aliens Heading To Royal Albert Hall With Live Orchestra

The Royal Albert Hall has announced the latest film that will be screened at the legendary venue with a live orchestra, and it’s James Camerons’ sci-fi action classic ‘Aliens’.

The shows will celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary. The news comes a week after the venue announced that Steven Spielberg’s ‘Jurassic Park’ would be screened in such a fashion later this year.

The ‘Jurassic Park’ shows sold 10,000 tickets in just a matter of hours last week, so we imagine the two currently-announced shows for ‘Aliens’ on 6 November will be extremely popular when they go on sale later this week.

“We’re delighted to reveal the other headline show for November’s film festival [features] more big blockbuster scores in the shape of James Cameron’s explosive ‘Aliens,“ said the Royal Albert Hall’s Lucy Noble in a statement (via Empire Online)

"James Horner’s incredible music [will be] brought front and centre by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, conducted by Ludwig Wicki.”

The performances will take place the day after the ‘Jurassic Park’ run comes to an end, and Noble hints that more film announcements are on the way.

The Royal Albert Hall’s initiative really took off with performances of Ridley Scott’s ‘Gladiator’ and continues this year with performances of ‘Raiders of the Last Ark’, ‘Independence Day’, a ‘Gladiator’ encore and, at Christmas, ‘ET’.

Tickets for ‘Aliens’ Live go on sale on this Thursday, 18 February.
