James McAvoy Mistakenly Shaved His Head For X-Men

James McAvoy has revealed that he made a gargantuan mistake ahead of his debut as Professor X in ‘X-Men: First Class’.

The Scottish actor shaved all of his hair off ahead of the film, even though he was supposed to have a 60s hairstyle in it.

McAvoy has confirmed that he made the huge error after simply assuming that his Charles Xavier would have the same dome as he did in the comics and when Patrick Stewart portrayed the character.

“I did actually shave my head,” McAvoy admitted to the Radio Times. “I turned up and they went, ‘No, no, no, no, no it’s the 60s, we want him to be haired … well, not bald.”

But how did the ‘Wanted’ actor correct this rather tremendous oversight of his? He turned to a “dear friend and follicle felicitator” who then proceeded to spend “about 24 hours putting hair extensions into [his] hair.”

McAvoy’s assumption was right though. In the comics Charles Xavier actually loses his hair when he first gets the power to both read and control minds.

In fact it’s widely believed that he will finally have a valid reason to get rid of his hair when he next appears as the character in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’.

The 8th instalment to the ‘X-Men’ franchise recently acquired the services of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ and ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ actor, Oscar Isaacs, and with Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg’s return as director and writer respectively confirmed there is plenty to be excited about regarding the future of the series.

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ has been touted for a May 27, 2016 release. But before then I’m going to go and re-watch ‘X-Men: First Class’ to see if I can spot James McAvoy’s wig.
