Jamie Lee Curtis celebrates first ever Oscar nomination
'It was never even in my wildest dream box'
Jamie Lee Curtis is celebrating her first ever Oscar nomination for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once.
The acting legend will compete for Best Supporting Actress against Kerry Condon, Angela Bassett, Hong Chao and her co-star Stephanie Hsu.
Celebrating the moment, Curtis wrote on social media: "It was never even in my wildest dream box. I have always felt very much like an outsider looking in and yet always so grateful for any and all opportunities I have had."
She added: "Being a part of this beautiful movie, which just received so many acknowledgments for our talented, motley crew of artists, is the highlight of my professional life."
Curtis also celebrated the themes of the movie, which follow a family of Chinese immigrants in a sci-fi tale: "As this is a movie about a family of immigrants and their struggles through life, immediately I’m thinking of my parents, children of immigrants from Hungary and Denmark, whose families came here and sacrificed for their children to achieve their dreams."
Curtis also shared a series of images of her reacting to finding out she was nominated. In the pictures, she can be seen watching the Oscar nominations broadcast on her TV before reacting with excitement at her and Hsu's nominations. She is then given a hug by her husband.
