Jamie Oliver has been celebrating a lot recently. Recently he shared a gorgeous photo of his daughter, Daisy, to celebrate her 18th birthday and now he’s posted a photo to mark a career milestone.
Taking to Instagram the dad-of-five posted a brilliant black-and-white photo of himself to mark 22 years since The Naked Chef first aired on TV and it made us feel extremely nostalgic.
Taken in 1999, the snap shows a youthful Jamie with his signature long hair, baggy jeans and white trainers. He can be seen climbing the stairs of his flat, carrying bags of ingredients from Sainsbury’s. He captioned the shot: "This staircase....if you know, you know!! 22 years today The Naked Chef first aired on TV. Wow."
Delighted by the picture, fans were quick to congratulate the 45-year-old. One follower wrote: “Well done you Sir. What amazing work you have done.❤️❤️” while another simply said: “Loved watching you then and now 👍”.
Others shared how influential the show had been on them. “I changed career and become a chef as a result of that show!”, said a follower while another said: “My favourite chef and the reason I chose the career I’m in today! Thank you Jamie 👍🏻👍🏻⭐️”.
A few people joked about how old the photo made them feel. One follower wrote: “I’m sooooo old I remember, we loved it & always watched it.” while another confessed: “Goodness that makes me feel old!😱🤣”.
In a sweet message one of his fans revealed just how little she was when The Naked Chef first came out, writing: “I was just 6 years old and loved it. Been a fan ever since! ❤️ feel old now though haha.”
