Jason Derulo pens song about marriage pressure

One of the great things about dating a singer like Jason Derulo must be the love songs they pen for you, but Jordin Sparks might not be completely thrilled about a track on the singer's latest album.

Jason and Jordin have been together since 2012 and apparently some people think that's more than enough time to get through the dating phase and move on to marriage - and by some people we mean their families.

So for a track on his fourth album, Talk Dirty, the Ridin' Solo star wrote a track about the pressure to propose he's feeling from his potential in-laws and his own family.

Maybe Jason should have thought a little more carefully when it came to naming the track, though, as calling it Marry Me has simply increased the expectations on him to get down on one knee.

He tells MTV, "I was just trying to explain that we have forever, so what's the rush. There is a lot of pressure, and there was a lot of pressure before the song. I wrote the song because of the pressure and then I made the pressure worse because people just listen to the chorus and all they hear is 'Will you marry me?' so they're like 'Oh you're proposing' I'm like 'No.' In the song I'm saying when the time is right, I'm saying we have the rest of our lives. So the perfect time is on its way."

We can only hope that Jordin wasn't among those confused by the song - that would have made for a awkward conversation!
