John Travolta shows off private customised Boeing Business Jet: 'So far above first class'
John Travolta took to the skies on Jay Leno’s Garage to show off his Boeing Business Jet. Boeing’s premiere private jet retails for $57 million (£45.5 million) when new, plus an additional $20 million to $25 million (£16 million to £20 million) for the interior design and installation.
Travolta has had his pilot license for 45 years and a jet license for 20. He is such an avid flier that his house is attached to a runway, so he can literally park his jets in the driveway. Jay Leno was so impressed that he called Travolta a “hero.”
Travolta’s jet, which is based on the Boeing 737, has a fuel range of almost 6,000 miles. So if wife Kelly Preston wants pizza for date night, they can fly from Florida to Italy for a fresh slice.
The 737 is designed to carry approximately 150 passengers but Travolta’s jet has been customised to carry 15 people in extreme comfort. The plane features two bedrooms as well as a full-size bathroom and shower.
The 65-year-old Grease star is said to own five aircraft and regularly flies himself to international locations while doing global press tours.

"Now I've made a profession out of flying in addition to acting, and at my age I'm glad I did, because it's something to do when you're not working," Travolta told Today back in 2014. The actor has been an “ambassador-at-large” for Australian airline Qantas since 2002, and he keeps his personal Qantas Boeing 707 in the grounds of his Florida home.
"It was always John’s dream to have planes in his front yard — to practically be able to pull up to the house — so that when you wanted to go to dinner, all you’d have to do was step out the door, get on the plane and whisk off,” Travolta’s wife Kelly Preston told Architectural Digest in 2005.
