The Clip 3 from JBL is a portable Bluetooth speaker you really can take with you anywhere. Not only is it small enough to pop in a pocket or bag, but an integrated carabiner allows you to hang it from a bag or belt, so you’ll hardly notice it’s there.
Why we love it
JBL has an enviable reputation when it comes to audio gear - from stadium speakers to home Hi-Fi, it knows how to hold a tune - there’s some serious music cred at play here.
We particularly like the Clip 3’s cool design - with moulded Play buttons and a rugged exterior, it looks ready for anything.
And, as the Clip 3 has an IPX7 waterproof rating, it’ll keep on rocking during inclement weather, and will shrug off any unintended dip into the pool. In fact, the JBL Clip 3 is so robust, we can’t stop dreaming of places we want to take one.

Why it’s so handy
While most users will stream music via Bluetooth from their smartphones, the Clip 3 also has a 3.5mm minijack, and you can connect a music player directly if you prefer.
It’s also got a high stamina battery, able to play for up to 10 hours when fully charged. Rather handily, it features a dual USB charging hub, and there’s a noise cancelling speakerphone too.
It’s perfect for your next outdoor adventure, and would probably make someone a really cool Christmas present too (apologies if you think we’re being festively premature).
What the reviews say
With 84 per cent of users giving the JBL Clip 3 a five star rating, its musical performance and design are clearly crowd pleasing.
“If there is one word to describe this upgraded micro speaker, it would be brilliant.”
“Sound quality is amazing and has really good clarity and bass.”
“I use this mainly in the shower and when I am out cycling and hiking, So the waterproof aspect of it fits the bill for me...”
“Music addict/DJ/producer here. Bought this to blast music when I bike through the city. Sounds very decent for its size. Surprisingly good bass when played loud. I'd recommend.”
“I bought this to clip on my cycling rucksack to listen to music whilst cycling. It is perfect for this job. I don't like wearing headphones as you lose awareness of your surroundings and this is perfect. Can even make calls and answer calls while cycling.”
“I have purchased many Bluetooth speakers in my time but this tops them all in the portable category.”
“Brilliant little speaker. I have attached it to the headrest in our car so my 3-year-old can watch his programmes on long car journeys. The volume on the Amazon Prime kids movies through the Fire tablet was pretty poor when the car was doing anything over 30mph but this speaker fixed the problem. And with a long enough cable, we can just charge the speaker from the car USB port whilst it's playing! Perfect.”
