J.K. Rowling: Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them Is A Trilogy
In what’s hardly surprising, but still rather exciting news, J.K. Rowling has confirmed that ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ is actually the first of a trilogy.
J.K. Rowling, who is making her debut as a screenwriter on the ‘Harry Potter’ spin-off, took to her Twitter account to confirm that the Eddie Redmayne led fantasy adventure will have two sequels.
Rowling made this revelation while at the same time noting that there’s no plans to turn ‘Cursed Child’, the play that’s a sequel to the ‘Harry Potter’ films, into a movie just yet.
Warner Bros. head Ken Tsujihara confirmed that ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ would be the first of a trilogy when the film was originally announced. However since then there haven’t been any further official news regarding the further instalments.
That’s probably because Eddie Redmayne, Alicia Vikander, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Colin Farell and director David Yates have been hard at work actually shooting ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’.
However, even before Rowling’s confirmation, it was always assumed that ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ would have follow-ups. That’s just the way that Hollywood works nowadays.
And with one of the most exciting young ensemble casts in years, it will be exciting to see where J.K. Rowling can take ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ in the future. Especially since the original book is only 128 pages long.
We’ll get our first taste of ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ later this year when the first film is released on November 18, 2016. Can’t wait until then? All I’ve got for you is the first trailer, which you watch below.
